Michael Schlachter was named director of strategic equities at Los Angeles Capital Management, spokeswoman Patricia Go confirmed. He has also become a senior member of the firm's portfolio management team.
The position is new. Mr. Schlachter works with the firm's institutional clients to develop investment strategies, implement custom factor portfolios and incorporate ESG. He also helps the firm's relationship management team conduct strategic discussions with investment consultants. He reports directly to Chairman and CEO Thomas Stevens.
Mr. Schlachter was a senior investment consultant with Mercer Investment Consulting. Spokeswoman Alayna Francis said the firm won't seek a direct replacement; his responsibilities have been taken on by others at the firm.
Los Angeles Capital has $29 billion in assets under management across active global equity strategies.
