Stephen P. Wood, chief market strategist at Russell Investments, died June 5. He was 51.
Mr. Wood was on vacation with his family when he died from an apparent heart attack, said a spokesman for the money manager.
He was a "leading external voice for the firm on the economy, capital markets and portfolio strategies," said the spokesman in an email.
Mr. Wood joined the money manager and consultant in 2005 from Manning & Napier Advisors. "His impact and influence on colleagues and our clients globally was immeasurable," the spokesman said.
