Julian Ide was named head of distribution and strategy at Martin Currie Investment Management.
Mr. Ide is based in Edinburgh and is responsible for broadening and building the firm's global distribution capability across all strategies. Whether the role is new could not be learned.
"(Mr.) Ide is a crucial hire for our business, as we look to step up our distribution momentum and increase the accessibility of our highly differentiated investment strategies to a global marketplace," said CEO Willie Watt in a news release.
Mr. Ide was most recently CEO at exchange-traded fund specialist Source, said the release. Source was acquired by Invesco last year. Spokesmen could not be reached for comment.
Martin Currie runs $19 billion in assets under management across four key strategies: market aware; long-term unconstrained; sustainable income and growth; and absolute return.
