Ronda Stegmann was named executive director of the $8 billion Missouri State Employees' Retirement System, Jefferson City, said Candy Smith, pension fund spokeswoman, in an email.
Ms. Stegmann has been serving as interim executive director since Jan. 18 following the departure of John Watson, who had been executive director since Sept. 1, 2015.
The pension fund began a search in December because Mr. Watson's contract was set to expire on Aug. 31, 2018. The reason for Mr. Watson's early departure was not disclosed.
Before she took on the interim role, Ms. Stegmann was MOSERS' legislative and policy coordinator. Ms. Smith said a replacement has not been named to that position yet.
