Strathclyde Pension Fund, Glasgow, Scotland, committed a total of £820 million ($1.09 billion) to five alternatives managers, the £20.7 billion pension fund said in notice on its website following a meeting of the pension fund investment committee on May 23.
The pension fund's investment committee approved a £500 million commitment to J.P. Morgan International Infrastructure Fund, managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and a £200 million commitment to LF Ruffer Absolute Return Fund.
The pension fund's investment committee also approved a £50 million commitment to Equitix Fund V, a core infrastructure and energy fund managed by Equitix Investment Management, and a £50 million commitment to Greencoat Solar II, a renewable energy and infrastructure fund managed by Greencoat Capital.
The pension fund also committed £20 million to GAM Real Estate Finance Fund II, managed by GAM International Management.
