Cambridge (Mass.) Retirement System is searching for core fixed-income managers to run about $130 million.
Segal Marco Advisors, investment consultant to the $1.3 billion pension plan, is assisting with the search.
The board may select more than one manager. Minority- and women-owned managers are strongly encouraged to bid. Its current core fixed income managers are Fidelity Institutional Asset Management and Income Research & Management. It could not be learned if they are invited to rebid. FIAM manages about $75 million and Income Research & Management, $59 million.
The RFP is available on Segal Marco's website. Proposals are due by 3 p.m. EDT June 14. A selection date was not disclosed.
The pension fund's allocation to core fixed-income was 10.04% as of Dec. 31, according to its annual report.
Todd M. Kohlhepp, spokesman for Segal Marco Advisors, and Ellen K. Philbin, executive director of the pension fund, could not be immediately reached for comment by press time.
