Roland Schmidt was named director of Europe, Middle East and Africa business development at RBC Global Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. "This growth in our distribution channel enhances our ability to provide clients in continental Europe with relevant investment solutions and valued service. Mr. Schmidt complements the strength of our existing team and shares our commitment to providing world-class client service," CEO Clive Brown said in a news release.
Mr. Schmidt joined from Carmignac Gestion, where he was head of institutional and wholesale for Germany and Austria. A spokesman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
