James Edwards and Matthew Werner were named managing directors of investments at Emory Investment Management, the investment arm that manages the Atlanta-based Emory University's $6.9 billion endowment, said Elaine Justice, university spokeswoman, in an email.
They will join Emory on July 1, the same day Srinivas "Srini" Pulavarti starts as vice president and chief investment officer. Mr. Pulavarti is replacing Mary L. Cahill, who retired on Aug. 1 after 16 years at the post.
Mr. Edwards, who will also serve as a portfolio manager, equities, is currently investment director at UCLA Investment Co., which oversees investment management of the $2.3 billion UCLA Foundation, Los Angeles, and its affiliates, where Mr. Pulavarti is currently president and CIO.
Mr. Werner is currently director of credit, multistrategy and emerging markets at Spider Management Co., the investment office of the University of Richmond, Va., which oversees $4.5 billion in endowment and foundation assets.
