Inflexion Private Equity Partners closed two funds with a total of £2.25 billion ($3 billion) in commitments, a spokeswoman said.
Inflexion Buyout Fund V closed at £1.25 billion, and Inflexion Partnership Capital Fund II closed with £1 billion.
"The target of the (midmarket U.K. buyout funds) was £2.25 billion total, which we met, and both funds were oversubscribed but we kept at our hard cap," the spokeswoman added.
In 2014, predecessor funds Inflexion Buyout Fund IV and Inflexion Partnership Capital Fund I closed at £650 million and £400 million, respectively.
The $118.9 billion New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, made committed £65 million to each of the funds and the $40.9 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Oak Brook, committed a combined £100 million to the two funds.
