Jason Tan was named partner and chief investment officer at Jeneration Capital Management, a Hong Kong-based investor in private and publicly traded equity.
The position is a new one at the firm, which was launched in 2015 and currently has assets under management of roughly $2 billion, said a spokesman.
Mr. Tan comes to Jeneration Capital Management from Tiger Global Management, where he was a global partner. Tiger Global couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
A Jeneration news release said the firm employs a multistrategy approach "with an emphasis on direct private investments and dynamic asset allocation across private equity, public equity and diversified investments." Mr. Tan will oversee the firm's overall portfolio and strategy.
