Nicolas Amato, managing director, head of alternative portfolio management at Wilshire Funds Management, has left the firm, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Amato's plans were not known. He joined Wilshire Associates' money management unit to take on the then-new position in June 2015 from hedge funds-of-funds manager Dorchester Capital Advisors.
Currently, Mr. Amato's responsibilities are being taken on by Wilshire Funds Management's team of portfolio managers and research analysts, reporting to Josh Emanuel, chief investment officer, the spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman would not provide further information on the future of the position.
Wilshire Funds Management's assets under management was more than $200 billion as of Dec. 31. Firmwide, alternative AUM was about $13 billion, a spokesman said.
