Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, posted a search for a new executive director for the $48 billion pension system, according to the National Association of State Retirement Administrators' website.
Executive search firm EFL Associates is assisting with the search. A salary range and time frame for selecting a person were not provided.
The executive director is responsible for overseeing all Colorado PERA programs and executing its mission, as well as administering and overseeing its 300-person staff and $80 million annual budget.
Ron Baker, PERA's chief administrative officer, was named interim executive director of the plan in December. He replaced Gregory W. Smith, who died suddenly Dec. 12 while vacationing with his family in Hawaii.
The job posting is on NASRA's website, with detailed specifications on EFL's website.
Colorado PERA spokesman Luc Hatlestad and Daniel J. Cummings, senior vice president and managing director at EFL Associates, could not be immediately reached for comment.
