Wayne Bowers departed from his role as international CEO and chief investment officer at Northern Trust Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Bowers will "pursue other opportunities," she added. Northern Trust is planning on replacing Mr. Bowers with two executives in two separate roles. The spokeswoman declined to elaborate.
"In line with Northern Trust Asset Management's focus to continually position its capabilities for growth and enhance strategic alignment, the company will reposition its international CEO and CIO role by creating two distinct roles," the spokeswoman said in an emailed statement.
Northern Trust Asset Management has $1.2 trillion in assets under management.
