Carlos Hardenberg and Greg Konieczny joined Mobius Capital Partners as founding partners alongside Mark Mobius, a spokesman said.
The new ESG-focused money management firm invests in emerging and frontier markets out of London. The active manager focuses on improving governance standards in corporations in emerging and frontier markets.
"I am very excited to be launching Mobius Capital Partners, built on the fundamental aim to invest for good, bringing opportunities to make a real impact in countries where it is needed most," Mr. Mobius said in a news release. "During my career as an emerging markets investor, I have always been a passionate advocate on corporate governance issues."
The spokesman said, "Mr. Mobius won't be looking to poach (more) staff from Franklin Templeton."
Mr. Hardenberg was executive vice president and managing director for the Templeton emerging markets group and lead portfolio manager for Templeton emerging markets investment at Franklin Templeton Investments.
Chetan Sehgal was named lead portfolio manager for Templeton emerging markets investment in Mr. Hardenberg's place, a Franklin Templeton spokeswoman said.
Mr. Konieczny was co-CEO of Franklin Templeton Investment Management Ltd. U.K. Bucharest Branch and co-lead portfolio manager of investment company Fondul Proprietatea. Johan Meyer became sole CEO and sole lead portfolio manager of the respective entities, the spokeswoman added.
