Jason Goldberg was named portfolio manager at Capstone Investment Advisors, a spokesman said in an email.
Mr. Goldberg will be manager of his own relative value volatility arbitrage strategy known as a dispersion strategy. Capstone will continue to run separate, existing similar relative value volatility arbitrage strategies. The start date for Mr. Goldberg couldn't be learned.
Mr. Goldberg was running a similar strategy at Pacific Investment Management Co. A PIMCO spokeswoman declined comment.
Capstone has about $6 billion in assets under management.
