Chris Sutter was named head of business development for North America at CQS, confirmed spokesman Michael Rummel in an email.
Mr. Rummel did not disclose if the position was new or who Mr. Sutter will be reporting to.
This appointment follows Wayne Dovan joining the firm's U.S. sales team at the end of March. Further details on his position could not be learned.
Mr. Sutter was managing director, global head of marketing and investor relations at Structured Portfolio Management. Though representatives from Structured Portfolio Management declined to comment, sources familiar with the matter confirmed that Peter Mobberley, managing director, and Elisabeth Bothwell, director of investor relations, have been named co-heads of investor relations and marketing, assuming Mr. Sutter’s responsibilities.
CQS manages about $15 billion in hedge fund and long-only credit strategies.
