Richard Irons was named head of sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at State Street Global Exchange, the data and analytics unit of State Street, a spokesman said.
The spokesman declined to name the executive Mr. Irons has replaced.
Mr. Irons is responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for the unit's products and leads the regional sales team.
Mr. Irons was most recently head of account management and customer support at software provider Fenegro.
State Street has $33.3 trillion in assets under custody.
