Daniel McHugh was named head of U.K. real estate at Aviva Investors, a spokesman said.
Mr. McHugh is responsible for real estate activity in the U.K., leading the firm's specialist fund management and transaction teams. Mr. McHugh replaced David Skinner, global head of strategy and portfolio management for real estate, who held the role on an interim basis for the last 18 months. The role was earlier held by Ben Sterling, the spokesman said.
Mr. McHugh was previously head of continental European real estate investment at Standard Life Investments prior to the firm merging with Aberdeen Asset Management. An Aberdeen Standard Investments spokeswoman said, "Stephanie Morelle took over as lead fund manager for all three Euro Club (funds) ... Fabian Klingler was appointed head of direct real estate, continental Europe."
Aviva Investors has £353 billion ($502 billion) total assets under management and £67.9 billion real estate assets under management.
