Hugh Ferrand was named to Fidante Partners' institutional business development team in London, confirmed Cathy Hales, global head of the firm.
The position is new and Mr. Ferrand joins April 23. His exact job title has not yet been decided.
Mr. Ferrand will develop the multiboutique investment manager's institutional business development activities. He will engage with U.K. pension funds and insurance companies. He reports to Ms. Hales.
"He is so experienced in the industry, his breadth of relationships is exciting for us," said Ms. Hales in an interview.
Mr. Ferrand was head of the Invesco Perpetual institutional division. A spokeswoman confirmed he left the firm at the end of last year. Alex Millar took on the new role of head of U.K. institutional, and Zainab Kufaishi was promoted to head of institutional sales, Middle East and Africa, also a new role. She was part of the institutional senior leadership team within the Middle East and Africa region.
Fidante Partners invests in and forms long-term alliances with investment teams to create, support and grow specialist money management businesses, focusing on alternative strategies. It has $43.8 billion in funds under management and is fully owned by Sydney-based Challenger Ltd.
