Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, committed $75 million to Artemis Real Estate Partners Fund III, a closed-end fund investing in value-added and opportunistic real estate in the U.S.
The commitment was disclosed at a board of trustees meeting Thursday.
As of Dec. 31, the $78 billion pension fund's allocation was 42.4% public equity, 16.9% credit strategies, 16.2% fixed income, 12.6% real assets, 9.1% private equity and the rest in its strategic opportunities portfolio, which includes infrastructure.
