Steven Blackie was named head of global product strategy at Aviva Investors, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Blackie leads product strategy, investment and RFP teams, reporting to Louise Kay, global head of client solutions.
"As we expand our distribution efforts globally, it is imperative that client needs continue to drive our product strategy. (Mr. Blackie's) expertise in understanding and advising clients with complex needs, as well as considerable team management experience, make him ideally qualified to lead the product strategy team," Ms. Kay said in a news release.
Mr. Blackie joins Aviva Investors from Mercer, where he was U.K. chief investment officer. A spokeswoman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
Aviva has £353 billion ($495 billion) in assets under management.
