Ohio State Teachers' Retirement System, Columbus, made four new commitments totaling $212.5 million, said Nick Treneff, pension fund spokesman, in an email.
The $78 billion pension fund committed $75 million to Axiom Asia V, a private equity fund of funds, and $25 million to Axiom Asia Co-Investment Fund, both managed by Axiom Asia Private Capital.
The pension fund also committed $75 million to General Catalyst Group IX, a venture capital fund managed by General Catalyst Partners, and $37.5 million to venture capital fund Moonrise China Partners I.
The pension fund has made previous commitments to all of the managers, including $75 million to Moonrise Venture Partners I in 2016. Further information was not immediately available.
As of Feb. 28, the actual allocation to private equity was 6.9%; the target is 7%.
