Alex von Ziegesar was named managing director of business development at Advent Capital Management, confirmed spokeswoman Rachael Collins.
The position is new. r. von Ziegesar will be responsible for marketing traditional and alternative strategies to U.S. institutional investors. He will report to Kris Haber, the firm's chief operating officer.
Mr. von Ziegesar was head of investor relations and business development for Talara Capital Management. Talara spokesman Todd Barrish could not be reached to comment on a replacement.
Advent Capital Management manages more than $9 billion in assets across alternative and traditional strategies.
