Jean-Louis Scandella joined Ostrum Asset Management as equity chief investment officer, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Scandella is responsible for bolstering the firm's European and emerging markets equity capabilities and supervises equity portfolio management teams based in Paris and Singapore, covering more than €23.6 billion ($29.1 billion) in assets under management.
Based in Paris, Mr. Scandella reports to Ibrahima Kobar, deputy CEO, chief investment officer and member of the executive committee.
Ostrum, formerly Natixis Asset Management, has €324.5 billion in assets under management and is an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers.
Mr. Scandella was most recently head of equities at Barings Asset Management in London. A spokeswoman said he left in 2016 and was replaced by Ghadir Abu Leil-Cooper, who is still global head of equities.
