Lawrence Danter has joined CoreCommodity Management as a managing director, confirmed company spokesman Armel Leslie.
The position is new, and Mr. Danter will be responsible for marketing the firm's absolute-return strategies. He will report to Eliot Geller, a partner.
Mr. Danter was a managing partner at commodity hedge fund Jamison Capital Partners, overseeing marketing, investor relations and risk management. A Jamison Capital spokesman did not return a phone call seeking information about whether he was replaced.
CoreCommodity, an asset manager focused solely on commodities, manages $4 billion in assets.
