Webster (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for an active domestic midcap core equity manager to run up to $4.5 million and a passive domestic large-cap core equity manager to run up to $4 million.
Wainwright Investment Counsel, the $38 million pension fund's investment consultant, is assisting with the searches.
Gerry Wentworth, pension board administrator, said the search is being conducted to comply with Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission regulations that require contracts to be put out to bid every few years.
LMCG Investments is the current midcap manager and RhumbLine Advisers is the system's current passive large-cap manager, said Jeff Fabrizio, director of research at Wainwright Investment Council, in an email. Both firms are invited to rebid.
The RFPs are available on Wainwright's website. Proposals for both searches are due by 2 p.m. EDT on April 27. A timetable for selection has yet to be determined.
