Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $80 million to two new venture capital funds managed by Khosla Ventures, a transaction report showed.
The investment staff of the $29.7 billion pension fund committed $50 million to Khosla Ventures VI, which will make venture capital investments in U.S. clean technology and information technology sectors.
TCDRS also committed $30 million to Khosla Ventures Seed D, which will provide seed capital to early stage North American technology companies.
The pension fund previously committed a total of $80 million to Khosla Ventures V and IV and $12 million to Khosla Ventures Seed B.
The two new Khosla Ventures commitments bring TCDRS' total commitment year-to-date to private equity and venture capital to $175 million, the transaction report showed.
