Darren Stevens was named head of superannuation (product and platform strategy) for Australia and New Zealand at Mercer in Melbourne.
The position is new, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Stevens' responsibilities include overseeing the A$23 billion ($17.7 billion) Mercer Super Trust superannuation business and serving as super fund administrator for 2.1 million participants in Australia.
Mr. Stevens will drive the strategic direction of the firm's superannuation business, overseeing the development of the firm's product and platform strategies, said a news release Wednesday.
Mr. Stevens comes to Mercer from Bravura Solutions, a Sydney-based provider of software solutions and services for the administration of superannuation, pension, and other savings and retirement products, where he served as director of product management and strategy.
A Bravura spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
