Institutional Shareholder Services purchased oekom research AG, a Munich-based environmental, social and governance ratings and data provider, said Subodh Mishra, ISS executive director.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. oekom is being renamed ISS-oekom and will maintain its operations in London, Munich, New York, Paris and Zurich and its staff of 110 employees. It will continue to be led by Robert Hassler, co-founder and CEO.
Mr. Mishra said in an interview that the acquisition will allow ISS to provide "a more holistic suite of solutions to our institutional investor clients."
