Fidelity International chooses new managing director of continental Europe

Christian Staub was named managing director of continental Europe at Fidelity International, a spokeswoman said.

Mr. Staub will replace Jon Skillman on Aug. 6. Mr. Skillman was named head of global workplace investing at the company, a new position.

"(Mr. Staub) has experience of running sizable distribution businesses and a deep understanding of the needs of European institutional clients," said Simon Haslam, interim president, in a news release. "Combined with his prior roles within investment management, this provides the best possible combination of the skills required to manage our continental European business, which spans 19 countries and accounts for over $120 billion of client assets."

Mr. Staub was most recently head of institutional client business at BlackRock (BLK). Patrick Liedtke was named head of institutional business in Continental Europe at BlackRock, a spokesman said. Mr. Liedtke also continues to head the financial institutions business for EMEA.
