Datuk Ben Chan was named regional managing director, Asia-Pacific, for the C$180.5 billion ($140 billion) Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Toronto, effective June 1.
He will oversee the plan's Asia-Pacific investments, according to a news release from OTPP. He will be based in Hong Kong.
Mr. Chan replaced Nicole Musicco, who became senior managing director, public equities at OTPP, said a pension plan spokeswoman.
Mr. Chan was co-head of investment at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's 102.1 billion Malaysian ringgit ($26.1 billion) sovereign wealth fund. He will be replaced by Bryan Lim, director, investments, according to a separate news release from Khazanah.
