The NZ$39.1 billion ($28.3 billion) New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Auckland, and the Te Puia Tapapa Fund, a Maori investment fund, established a preferred partner relationship to explore areas of collaboration in pursuing new investment opportunities.
Debbie Birch, a spokeswoman for the Te Puia Tapapa Fund, which pools the resources of New Zealand's Maori communities, said the full and open dialogue between the two funds will be focused on investment opportunities in New Zealand.
A joint news release by the two funds said more than NZ$110 million has been "indicatively committed" to the Te Puia Tapapa Fund to date.
