Kelsey Deshler was named chief investment officer of Carleton College, Northfield, Minn., a news release said.
She replaced Jason Matz, who left Carleton to become CIO of the GHR Foundation, Minneapolis.
Ms. Deshler will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the college's $828 million endowment portfolio and the investment office.
Ms. Deshler was global head of manager research at BlackRock. Her responsibilities will be assumed temporarily by operational due diligence researcher Stephanie Park and investment due diligence researcher Reinoud van Ieperen until the company seeks a permanent replacement, confirmed BlackRock spokeswoman Melissa Garville.
Carleton College spokesman Eric Sieger did not immediately return a phone call seeking additional comment.
