Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., expects to contribute $133 million to its pension plans in 2018, said the company's 10-K filed Monday.
The company contributed $131 million to its pension plans in 2017.
As of Dec. 31, Allstate had $6.28 billion in pension fund assets and $6.82 billion in benefit obligations for a funded status of 92.1%, up from 85.7% at the end of 2016. Also as of Dec. 31, the pension plans had an aggregate asset allocation of 58% equities, 34% fixed income, 6% limited partner interests, and 2% short-term investments and other.
The discount rate used to calculate benefit obligations was 3.68% at the end of 2017, down from 4.15% as of Dec. 31, 2016.
