Erika Arevuo was named senior vice president and head of institutional marketing at Franklin Templeton Investments, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Ms. Arevuo is responsible for global institutional marketing. She works with global distribution, product management and marketing teams and reports to David McSpadden, executive vice president, global marketing services.
"Growing our existing presence globally among institutional clients continues to be a strategic priority for the firm. (Ms. Arevuo's) decades of knowledge and experience developing and executing large scale, multichannel campaigns to this investor base will be instrumental in helping the firm take its institutional business to the next level," Mr. McSpadden said in a news release.
Ms. Arevuo previously worked at BlackRock, where she was director of global institutional marketing Europe, Middle East and Africa. A spokeswoman said Ms. Arevuo’s responsibilities were assumed by other members of BlackRock's institutional EMEA marketing team, which is led by Roxana Golban since September 2017.
Franklin Templeton Investments has $770 billion in assets under management.
