Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., hired TorreyCove Capital Partners to provide private equity and real assets consulting services and Townsend Group for real estate consulting work, according to an email from the $16.1 billion pension fund.
OCERS' investment committee made the selections Tuesday; an RFP was launched Oct. 2 for illiquid investments advisory services. Meketa Investment Group is the pension plan's alternative investment consultant, but fund officials sought consultants to provide "a discrete assessment pertaining to access to best-in-class global private general partners," according to a memo for the Sept. 19 investment committee meeting. The selected consultants would "provide strategic advice, source investments, conduct due diligence, report and monitor the illiquid assets portfolio," the RFP stated.
OCERS’ actual allocations to the asset classes are 16.01% to real assets; 8.76%, private equity; and 7.89%, real estate.
