Christoph Butz was named director of consultant relations at Franklin Templeton Investments, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Butz is responsible for U.K. domestic consultants and assists with international consultants. He reports to Matt Philpott, director, global consultant relations.
"Having (Mr. Butz) join our consultant relations team to focus on U.K. domestic consultants demonstrates the importance we place on growing our interaction with this group of advisers," Mr. Philpott said in a news release.
Mr. Butz was previously consultants relations director at Aviva Investors. A spokesman could not be reached by press time to comment about a replacement.
Franklin Templeton Investments has $770 billion in assets under management.
