Carl Stanton was named managing director and head of private equity at Invesco, said a news release.
It is a new position. Mr. Stanton will "broaden the scope of the firm's existing private equity focus to include opportunistic buyouts and special situations," according to the news release. It is an expansion of the firm's Invesco Private Capital business, which the release said also will absorb Invesco's W.L. Ross & Co. unit.
Mr. Stanton previously was managing partner at private equity firm Wellspring Capital Management. A Wellspring spokesman declined comment.
Invesco spokeswoman Jeaneen Terrio could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
