Chattanooga (Tenn.) Fire and Police Pension Fund is searching for agriculture and timber managers each to run $5 million portfolios, said RFPs posted on the website of Dahab Associates, the $225 million pension fund's investment consultant.
The pension fund issued separate RFPs for an agriculture manager and timber manager. The fund's board approved targets of 5% each to timber and farmland at its July 20 meeting and made its first commitment in October of $12 million to a timber and farmland fund managed by Hancock Natural Resource Group, both according to previous board meeting minutes. The funding sources could not be immediately learned.
The agriculture RFP and timber RFP are both posted on Dahab's website. Proposals for both searches are due at 5 p.m. EDT on March 27. Timelines for decisions have yet to be determined.
Katrina Abbott, fund administrator, could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
