Real estate money manager Hines is giving a total of $90,000 over three years to the Urban Land Institute and ULI's Women's Leadership Initiative to help increase the number of female leaders in the real estate industry.
The money will be used to help create the WLI Hines Innovation Grants to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in the industry and within ULI's membership.
Created in 2012, the WLI has conducted research in the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region on improving leadership opportunities for women in the real estate industry, awarded scholarships to women to attend ULI's annual meetings and offered speaking opportunities to female ULI members.
In a written statement, Ralph Boyd, ULI Americas CEO, said ULI is grateful for Hines' generous support, which will help improve leadership opportunities for women in all areas of the real estate profession.
"More inclusivity leads to better ideas, better decisions and better outcomes for our industry and our communities," Mr. Boyd said.
