Anadarko Petroleum Corp., The Woodlands, Texas, plans to contribute $130 million to its pension plans in 2018, the company disclosed Thursday in its 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company plans to contribute $114 million to its funded plans and $16 million to unfunded plans. Anadarko contributed a total of $254 million to its pension plans in 2017 and $107 million in 2016.
As of Dec. 31, pension plan assets totaled $1.424 billion, while projected benefit obligations totaled $2.218 billion, for a funding ratio of 64.2%, up from the previous year's funding ratio of 58.2%. The discount rate for 2017 was 3.62%, down from 4.06% in 2016.
