Talib Sheikh was named head of multiasset strategy at Jupiter Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Sheikh joins the business in June and will report directly to Stephen Pearson, chief investment officer. He will head an established team of portfolio managers.
"(Mr. Sheik's) skillset is perfectly aligned with our strategic initiative to expand our international footprint in the multiasset area, and he is well placed to spearhead this," Mr. Pearson said in a news release.
Mr. Sheikh joins from J.P. Morgan Asset Management where he was a managing director and portfolio manager. A spokeswoman said his responsibilities were taken on by a mix of existing and new portfolio managers.
Michael Schoenhaut and Eric Bernbaum will manage the Global Income Gund and Global Income Conservative Fund and Mr. Bernbaum will be added as co-portfolio manager on the Multi-Asset Income Fund, she said. Katy Thorneycroft and Jonathan Cummings will also be added as co-portfolio managers of the Global Balanced Fund, she added.
