Warren Cormier was named executive director of the retirement research center at the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association, a spokeswoman said.
It is a new position. Mr. Cormier will set the direction for the retirement research center and lead DCIIA's research collaboration with other industry research groups.
DCIIA, a non-profit focused on enhancing American workers' retirement security, established the retirement research center to develop research on building retirement security, best practices for achieving retirement security, and protecting retirement security. The center officially launched with Mr. Cormier's appointment in January.
Mr. Cormier has more than 25 years of experience in research for investment companies, banks and insurance companies, and is recognized as "a market research leader in the defined contribution industry," DCIIA said in a news release Tuesday.
He is CEO and co-founder of Boston Research Technologies and founder of Boston Research Group. He is also a co-founder of the Behavioral Finance Forum. Mr. Cormier said there will be a gradual transition of his duties at Boston Research Technologies.
