Searches for a general investment consultant for the $52.2 billion pension fund and for a specialist consultant for the plan's $6.1 billion diversifying strategies (hedge fund) portfolio, are required every five years under Illinois law, said David Urbanek, the pension fund's spokesman.
RVK, the incumbent general consultant, and Albourne Partners, the current hedge fund consultant, may rebid.
Proposals for the hedge fund consultant RFP are due by 2 p.m. CST on March 8. A final selection is slated for June or July.
Proposals for the general investment consultant RFP are due by 2 p.m. CST on March 9. A selection is expected in May, the RFP timetable said.
