David Sullivan was named head of strategic partnerships, North America, at Schroders, a spokeswoman said.
It is a newly created position. Mr. Sullivan, who is based in New York and will work on sourcing capital for U.K. and European real estate strategies from North America, will report to Duncan Owen, Schroders' global head of real estate.
Mr. Sullivan was previously a senior director with Barings Real Estate Advisers. Barings spokesman Brian Whelan could not be immediately reached to provide comment.
Schroders has about £12.4 billion ($17.5 billion) in real estate assets under management.
