Houston Municipal Employees Pension System allocated up to $140 million total to four managers, said spokesman Peter Koops in an email.
The $2.3 billion pension fund hired Salient Capital Advisors and Cohen & Steers Capital Management to manage $75 million and $25 million, respectively, in master limited partnership strategies.
Funding sources could not immediately be learned.
Additionally, the pension fund committed up to $20 million each to Anchorage Illiquid Opportunities VI, a credit fund managed by Anchorage Capital Group, and Siris Partners IV, a North American middle-market buyout fund that focuses on technology companies and is managed by Siris Capital Group.
