Michael Ryder was named senior managing director and head of Americas at OMERS Infrastructure Management, a unit of the C$85.2 billion ($68.2 billion) Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System, Toronto, a spokesman said.
Mr. Ryder replaced Sebastien Sherman, who became senior managing director in Blackstone Group's infrastructure business.
Mr. Ryder was senior managing director at Blackstone's private equity unit, focusing on oilfield services investment and midstream energy for the Blackstone Energy Partners fund, a spokeswoman said. Information on his replacement could not be learned by press time.
OMERS Infrastructure Management had C$14.7 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, according to Ontario Municipal's annual report.
