Jesper Norgaard was appointed deputy investment director at Sampension, Hellerup, Denmark, said a spokeswoman.
The role is new. He will join the 290 billion Danish kroner ($47.5 billion) pension fund April 1.
The appointment strengthens both strategy and management within Sampension's investment unit, according to a news release. The department has 28 staff and is led by Director Henrik Olejasz Larsen, to whom Mr. Norgaard will report.
Mr. Norgaard was group chief investment officer at Nordea Life and Pensions. A spokesman said Erik Callert was appointed acting group CIO at the end of December until further notice.
