Ryan Mollett, a senior managing director with GSO Capital Partners, Blackstone Group's credit business, has left the firm to join Angelo, Gordon & Co. as global head of distressed debt.
Mr. Mollett will report to Josh Baumgarten, Angelo Gordon's co-chief investment officer, according to a news release Thursday.
Mr. Mollett had been a portfolio manager at GSO Capital Partners focusing on distressed and special situation investing. GSO Capital Partners has a team in place and executives have no plans to replace Mr. Mollett, said sources familiar with the situation.
