Hugh Prendergast was named global head of product at Fidelity International, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new. Mr. Prendergast starts Feb. 19 in Dublin, reporting to Bart Grenier, global head of asset management. He will lead the money manager's product teams around the world and be responsible for continuing to develop the global product strategy.
Mr. Prendergast was global head of product and marketing at Pioneer Investments. The firm was acquired by Amundi last year. A spokesman for Amundi said the firm is structured by client segment with marketing split between retail and institutional clients. Elodie Laugel leads global product and marketing for institutional business.
"The needs of our clients are becoming ever more complex and it is critical that we continue to innovate when it comes to products and solutions to meet these needs," said a news release.
Fidelity International has £239.3 billion ($331.5 billion) in assets under management.
